Sometimes the simple things are the best, don't you think? Like naturally sweet, delightfully tasty homemade apple compote - especially when it's made from apples grown on your own trees! Thermomix makes it simple to make your own compote in under a half hour.[caption id=attachment_7294 align=aligncenter width=338] Start with gorgeous fresh apples to make your compote. These babies came from my own trees![/caption]I am lucky enough to have 9 apple trees in my backyard, and this year I have learned that they don't all mature at the same time (phew!) so I have been making smaller batches of apple compote over the past several weeks. Apples are so lovely and sweet there's no need to add any extra sugar so they're a beautifully healthy treat. If you don't have your own trees, just grab yourself a couple of kilos of apples from your local farmers' market, organic shop or at the supermarket and let's get cooking![yumprint-recipe id='15'] [caption id=attachment_7287 align=aligncenter width=412] Use enough apples to fill your TM bowl. Cut into chunks, drop them in, and add a MC of water.[/caption][caption id=attachment_7288 align=aligncenter width=338] Use the spatula to help get all the apples onto the blade to be chopped.[/caption][caption id=attachment_7289 align=aligncenter width=600] Cook 20 minutes/100° C/Speed 3 - 5. Today I used my trusty TM31 ;-)[/caption][caption id=attachment_7290 align=aligncenter width=371] Place the simmering basket on top of the lid to stop spatters.[/caption][caption id=attachment_7291 align=aligncenter width=385] Pour into sterilised jars. I find it easier - and less messy - when I use a jam funnel.[/caption][caption id=attachment_7292 align=aligncenter width=374] Today's batch made 7 yoghurt pots of delicious Thermomix apple compote. They're going straight into the fridge as soon as they cool![/caption]Bon appétit !
